I’ve been a fan of Stephen King, Clive Barker, Deant Koontz and Peter Straub for a few years now. Usually whenever they write something new I get it from the library or hit the book store when I get a chance. I’m especially a fan of their short stories collections. I was hoping to find more authors who write stories along the same lines as these authors and especially those who have audio books out.
Your suggestions on new authors similar to my old favs would be greatly appreciated!

How about Edgar Allen Poe? I know he’s not contemporary, but he’s still cool.

You might be interested in reading some lesser known, but equally good writers of horror/dark side short stories listed below.
Paul S. Gifford, Georgepat and Paul Mannering. I think you might enjoy these.
