Must be AA battery powered, but plug in power source would save on batteries while listening at home or in hospital – spend a lot of time there
1 GB minimum
Flash drive
USB interface
Resume & Sleep features
Prefer non ‘joystick’ controls.
Recording, radio and screen unnecessary.
No Ipods.
Will use for books downloaded via Overdrive.
$150 or less.
Is such a thing out there somewhere?
If all ‘wish list’ items aren’t possible, what device has the best combination of features for the price range?
Thanks!
Dell has roughly 30 mp3 players for under $150: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&category_id=5911&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=anav&sort=price&p=1.
It might be a little more expensive with the warranty, but it’s well worth it because if you do pretty much ANYTHING to it, they’ll send you a new one (provided it’s under warranty).
Additionally, I don’t know of many mp3 players that run on AA batteries – most are made with non-removable, rechargeable batteries that can last 5-10 hours (depending on the size of the mp3 player). A rechargeable battery really saves on the cost of batteries.
If you have questions (about the type of models Dell offers and/or which one to get), you can chat with a rep online at support.dell.com.
