It is now legal in the UK to use small short-range FM transmitters connected to an MP3 player.
There are many available for the iPOD but limited for other types of MP3 player.
Basically, you plug the device into your iPOD and it broadcasts the audio on a short range FM frequency which you then tune your car radio into. The quality is equivalent to listening to the radio.
There are various types available, but for about £35 you should be able to get one that plugs into the cigarette lighter (so your iPOD charges) and allows you to change the frequency broadcast to avoid interference.
