I’m buying the audio book Great Expectations off iTunes but I don’t know which one to get. And I don’t know what the difference is between abridged and unabridged. I have to read it for school so I want to get the right one.

Don’t ever get abridged. Unabridged is the entire book and that way you’re sure you don’t miss anything
Sorry if I sound dumb, but I don’t know what difference it makes unless you’re trying to decide between two books to read for a class assignment and you want the shorter book. If that’s the case, why not just get the unabridged audio version?

I doubt you will find it legally but audible.co.uk is a good site to download audio books and you can join and get any book no matter what the cost for £7.99 per month. I have been using this site a year now and they have some great books!
Does anybody know where i could get A Fine Balance Audio-book for free. unabridged. i looked all over google… if someones has it can u please upload it somewhere or if someone knows where i can find it can u please let me know. please

I just watched "Memoirs of A Geisha" after listening to the unabridged audio book several times. Wow does the movie leave a lot out.

The movie had some beautiful scenery and gave a good idea about Sayuri’s life, but I think the book was so much better!!
The book was much better. The characters were well established and were multi dimensional. When i read the book, i was in love with the chairman.
But in the film, the characters were flat and stereotyped. There were no dimensions to them. They were either good or bad. the screenplay writers apparently didn’t think giving shades to their characters was important.
I am a huge James Bond fan. I’ve seen and own all the movies and have recently read most of Ian Flemings books. I want to add Fleming James Bond book series to my collection but can’t find any in good condition. I have seen a beautiful set that was released in hard cover and large print in the U.K. in 2008, but after contacting the publishers I was told they have no license to sell outside of Europe. I’ve tried ebay and amazon. Most of the 2nd hand books i’ve found are not in good condition, I think the last time they were printed in hardback in the U.S. was 1965, so most are in crappy condition.

Hey everyone, I need some help. I’m thinking about buying an audio book from itunes and I wanted to buy The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I’m in the mood for something sappy. =) Anyway, I was wondering if there is a big difference between getting the abridged or unabridged version. I’ve googled it and all I was given is that abridged audio books are edited down to the bare essentials of the book, meaning only parts of the book that are of value to the story, while an unabridged audio book is the entire book. Help me out! Has anyone compared an unabridged version of a book to an abridged version? Thanks!
I read the book, but I haven’t compared them. I believe to get the full range of emotions/feelings you probably need more than just the essentials. I can’t think of too many parts that could be cut out as being "non-essential".
I have a very proud friend who is blind, she loves the Harry Potter books and has all but this newest one on audio tape or CD. I can not afford to buy her the unabridged audio book and even if I could she’d not accept it from me, (she hates charity when it’s directed at her) if I can arrange it through another friend she WILL accept gifts from is there anyone willing to buy her this unabridged audio book and send it to her using the other friend’s name? You’d be doing a great act of kindness, get a tax deduction and helping me to help a friend who can not afford to buy the audio book for herself. Her birthday is at the end of this month so the timing is perfect. Please if you aren’t serious about trying to help, do not answer this. Thank you in advance.

Is there an unabridged audio version to the book "A people’s history of the united states: 1492-present" by Howard Zinn? I own the book and am reading it but I get car sick and am going on a trip so I want to continue with it. I have found the audio version called A people’s history of the united states: Highlights from the twentieth century" but I am afraid it will be abridged. Can anyone help me out?
Your public library may have it. Try searching there.
Are the Harry Potter audiobooks on itunes abridged or unabridged?
You can get them on audible.com and download the audible itunes manager. To the best of my knowledge they are unabridged.
