I’m reading the book Christine by Stephen King to my class. Where can I find a free audio or narrator for the book or mp3 download to read the book aloud? Please, it would really help me catch up on my work.

Maybe you should get the book on CD form your local library and next time consider a podiobooks.com book maybe something By Scott Sigler

Stephen King recently recommended the audio book version of some book in a recent Entertainment Weekly (last week’s or the week before’s) . He said the book itself is good, but the actor who does the audio book does a phenomenal job with the audio version. What was the book? I’ve already passed my EW on to someone else, and can’t find this info online. Thanks!!

The book is "Blood’s a Rover", the reader is Craig Wasson.

I’ve been a fan of Stephen King, Clive Barker, Deant Koontz and Peter Straub for a few years now. Usually whenever they write something new I get it from the library or hit the book store when I get a chance. I’m especially a fan of their short stories collections. I was hoping to find more authors who write stories along the same lines as these authors and especially those who have audio books out.

Your suggestions on new authors similar to my old favs would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading!

How about Edgar Allen Poe? I know he’s not contemporary, but he’s still cool.

Koontz is my favorite btw. :)

i really like dark fantasy / occult books, lovecraft and stephen king and the sort, can anyone recomend some of the best HORROR audio books ? i want to download some for my ipod :)

If you can find it. Stephen King’s "The Mist". It was put together about ten years ago like a Radio program in what they call 3-d sound. Instead of it just reading the book line by line, it is acted out with sound effects and everything. Its pretty cool.

I have been trying to find Stephen King Audio Books with no luck, If anyone can find any let me know.Thanks.

You can get free audio books from YAKiToMe! They have a large public library of free audio books and news feeds. You can also make your own by turning any electronic text into an audio book podcast. It reads in multiple languages, with male and female readers, and at any speed suits you. Check it out.

As for Stephen King books, YAK won’t have that in the public library because they are under copyright protection. The same applies to the text of the book. Hypothetically speaking, if you could get the text, YAK would read it to you.

i like audio books and stphen king please help i cant drive so i cant go to the lmc

Stephen King is not giving his books or audio books away for free. Any copies online are therefore stolen property.

The thief who stolen them, can earn jail time and fines of $150,000 per book.

I’m looking for the best sites where I can download audio books. Here is what I’m interested in:

1. Completely FREE downloads
2. Unlimited downloads (or as many as I can get) for 1 low
monthly fee.
3. Pay per audio book (as low of a cost as possible)

I’m looking for popular authors, such as Stephen King, Mark twain, Anne Rice, etc.

I’m also looking for a wide range of genres, such as Horror, Classics, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Children’s/Young Adult, etc.

Let me know if you highly recommend the site, and if you have had personal positive experience with it. Also, links would be very helpful. Thank you.

You might want to look into the library of Congress (United States). Last I heard they had a program for blind people were they could get audio books for little or no cost. Go to the library of Congress and see what they have?

I’ve read the following books and loved them:

Cell – Stephen King
World War Z – Max Brooks
The Roam – Cormac McCarthy

I prefer the narrative of Cell to the interview format of WWZ. Can anyone make any recommendations on which books I should go to next? In particular I would like it if they are available on Audio CD, but I read paper novels too.
Yes, I too like the good ole vampire novels. I don’t mine vampire hero’s. I really liked "Interview with a Vampire." But I like the Vampire Villians, like "Salem’s Lot" and "Dracula"

But I like Zombie Apocalypse best.

One Second After by William Forstchen – apocalyptic.
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson – zombie/vampire
The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan – zombie/vampire
The Stand by Stephen King – apocalyptic.

Just finished The Strain, and it was great. Don’t let the vampires turn you off. This book rescues the vampire from his new sparkly persona and returns him to the monster he was meant to be.

My brother doesn’t like to read (unlike me), but doesn’t mind listening to audio CDs. He loved listening to Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King. Does anyone have any recomendations as to novels that could be found on audio CD that are similar to Hearts?
My brother is 24 years old. Doesn’t like reading, but LOVED Hearts in Atlantis on Audio CD, so I am sure he would love others. He works at a desk, so he has plenty of time to listen.

He may like Dean Koontz. My whole family loves him. The whole Odd Thomas series is great and I really liked From the Corner of His Eye.

Stephen Kings "Bag of Bones" was an excellent audio book also. He actually did the recording of it himself so he portrayed the characters exactly as they should be. Oh, and the Green Mile was a good audio book also. It wasn’t read by Stephen King but whoever did read it did an excellent job. :)
