I’m looking for the audio book Gulliver’s Travels by Johnathan Swift. If anyone knows a website where I can find that, it would be very helpful. Also, if you have ever read the book could you leave your opinions on it please? Thanks!

For £4.70 it is available here:

http://www.s3books.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=132

It has the choice of British male, American male or female voices.

If you are American, £4.70 is about nine and a half dollars.

has it for close to $20, and Amazon.com sells an audio cassette copy for $6.95 or they have some used copies for as low as 27 cents according to:

or in MP3 version: Gulliver’s Travels (Unabridged Classics) by Jonathan Swift and David Case (MP3 CD – Oct 1, 2006) – Audiobook

I would like to listen to the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward, the Vampire Kisses books, and The Vampire Diaries Series but I can not find a site that has these books on audio. Can someone please help? The site would have to be free and when I say free I mean free. No hidden fees of any kind. If you could help that would be great.

Thanks

Those books are under copyright so you will not be able to legally listen to them for free. If any of these were online, they would be stolen property and I do mean stolen!

You can check your public library and see if they bought the audio books. You can check them out for free.

It is unfair to take an author’s books and put them online for free. That deprives the author of his livelihood. Stealing an audio book would also be depriving the actor who reads the book and the sound engineers their livelihood.

"In a civil suit, an infringer may be liable for a copyright owner’s actual damages plus any profits made from the infringement. Alternatively, the copyright owner may avoid proving actual damage by electing a statutory damage recovery of up to $30,000 or, where the court determines that the infringement occurred willfully, up to $150,000. The actual amount will be based upon what the court in its discretion considers just. (17 U.S.C. 504)

Violation of copyright law is also considered a federal crime when done willfully with an intent to profit. Criminal penalties include up to ten years imprisonment depending on the nature of the violation. (No Electronic Theft Act, 18 U.S.C. 2319)"

i have 4 audio books on my ipod. one works, three don’t (i can’t hear them on my ipod but i can play them on itunes). and the only difference between them is that the one that works is in stereo format/channel and the others are on mono format/channels.
so i think this is my problem but i dont know how to fix it.

hi friend, dont b disturb with this problem, if your 3 audio books not working properly then try to download again in different format. if the problem still there then i m giving u the name of one software that is "imtoo" or "Total audio video converter" it is a converter using this u can easily convert your mono audio books to stereo audio books ok.

but i recommend u to first try to download that audio books from different location in different format which play in your ipod try this link..

Okay, I already looked on ebay…i’m really just looking for the audio books to twilight. right now there aren’t really good prices on ebay because i already read new moon and twilight but the ones for eclipse and breaking dawn don’t have good prices. do you know a site?

Try the online store located at http://www.securityalertz.com. I always buy cheap books from there.

I am a teacher who has an ongoing need for audio books on CD. Are there any libraries in LA (especially Hollywood) that have a wide selection of CD audio books available to lend?

If you go to the Los Angeles Public LIbrary online catalog and search for books limiting your format to CD you will find a lot.
Here is the link to the catalog:
http://catalog1.lapl.org/cgi-bin/cw_cgi?getLimitedTerms+32104

It is a little misleading because they should have a choice to limit your format to "CD BOOKS" but they don’t use that term..

Hope this helps…

i have i tunes with the audio books but i don’t want to spend 20 bucks on them. Is there some place where i can just download it and then transfer it to my library?

One website where you can do stuff like that is linewire. You can also get audio books from the library and upload them. I do that all the time.

I used to listen to audio books on tape in the car and enjoyed them a lot.

Now I’d like to find a player and a source for audio books that I could carry with me, maybe listen to while at the gym.

Thanks!

First, a good place to download audio books. Try:
http://www.theaudiobookstore.com/servlet/StoreFront
They seem to have a good selection of the "usual suspects" as far as audio books, and the price is comparable to or less than purchasing a book on tape.

As far as a player, it’s possible to purchase and mp3 only player for very small money at a discount department store, and it would do the job just fine.

However, if you’re interested in a music service as well (as long as you’ll have the mp3 player) consider a Sansa Rhapsody for the Rhapsody Music Service, or of course and iPod for iTunes. With the iTunes option, there are also free audio books you can download with your subscription.

Since the question was repeated (probably by accident) I’m reposting my answer, hoping it will be the best one received here, too.
