Perhaps you are thinking of books on AUDIOCASSETTE. I don't think anybody has those anymore. Audiobooks on CD are very easy to get. (Whether on cassete or CD, they are still called audiobooks. Audio = hear or listen.)

At Borders, through the safe link above (again) I saw over 20,000 titles up there.

This site I recommend often for audio books, but if you scroll all the way down on their home page, you’ll see under ‘Prominent Publishers’ many links to more sites for audio books for sale by very respected publishing houses.

Libraries have many audio books now, too.

I’m sure they still make them.
