Any iPod will work for audiobook purposes. Just buy the iPod that best fits your budget. As long as he has good headphones, then he should be good. And you can actually get audiobooks from iTunes store. Or you can try using audiobooks.com. I don’t know which is cheaper but I’ve downloaded several books from audiobooks.com in the past and they worked out great. Good luck! =)
