I listen to my mp3 player alot, but mainly the spoken word, not music.
I like a wide range of fiction, and I also enjoy more academic persuits (history, religion, philosophy etc).
Any suggestions what i might listen to next?
I’ve just started this myself, so I haven’t listened to many yet, but so far I am enjoying Objectivism: The Philosophy Of Ayn Rand by Leonard Peikoff. It is almost 20 hours long and very well laid out. It even has a touch of humor(mostly dry), which is very nice in a field as dry as philosophy
The Last Ride by Paul Melniczek
Satan’s Fall by Robert Lyle
The Premature Burial by Edgar Allen Poe
The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe
Hell’s Outcast by Quentin Chambers
The Night that Dripped Blood by Rich Logsdon
Thanks for every answer!!!!!
The first site below has a number of Edgar Allen Poe stories and poems. I found the Tell Tale Heart but not the other one, it is possible that it is in one of the Poe collections of stories they have.
I could not find any of the others on this site and if they are still in copyright you will not find them on any legal audio book site.
Added another good audio book site you can try.
Stephen King recently recommended the audio book version of some book in a recent Entertainment Weekly (last week’s or the week before’s) . He said the book itself is good, but the actor who does the audio book does a phenomenal job with the audio version. What was the book? I’ve already passed my EW on to someone else, and can’t find this info online. Thanks!!
The book is "Blood’s a Rover", the reader is Craig Wasson.
that where published in like the 70’s. roald dahl to be specific.
There are a bunch of Roald Dahl audio books available at Audible.com. You can get two for free with a trial, but it requires a credit card for sign up. And, you have to remember to cancel if you don’t want to keep the subscription.
I came across his website http://www.khouse.org/ while searching for Christian audio books, and know nothing about him.
Chuck Missler – Important Rapture Cult leader who is notorious for brazenly lying to his audience to curry favor. An entertaining public speaker popular on the cult circuit, Missler rolls out detailed and elaborate prevarications to pump up the Rapture Cult lie the doctrine was taught in the early church. In a typical presentation, in a rapid fire fashion, Chuck Missler will cite over a dozen ancient Christians (Irenaues, Hippolytus, Jerome, etc), with dates that sound authentic, and categorically state they all taught the pre-tribulation fraud. To an unlearned Christian, such a presentation is compelling.

I am looking for a particular book for a book report of history over the Salem witch trials. I am desperately looking everywhere. I am in a tight spot and need it asap. I want to see if there is some way to download the audio so I can listen to it or the book and have it read.
Librivox has books our of copyright read by volunteers so it is legal.
Newer books are in copyright so there is no free audio books.
I get free songs, but where can I get the free audio books?
Its not piarted. It’s just the sound from Youtube. I have a converter!!!
Jeez, pirating virus-riddled music just isn’t enough for some people.
