Several web sites offer online full-texts of books that are out of copyright, e.g. www.gutenberg.org.
However, aside from the copyright owner, which is almost always the author or their publisher, ANYONE who posts the text of these books online is violating both the U.S. and the International Copyright laws, infringing on Intellectual Property, and can be fined and jailed for it. (In general, anything first published within the last 52 years in the U.S. will still be in copyright. When the law was changed, it became copyright duration matched the rest of the work, i.e. the author’s/copyright owner’s lifetime plus 50 years.)

Writers make a living by creating their work. To read or use it without paying for it, is STEALING, pure and simple.
If the work is valuable enough to read, it should be paid for.

Please? I have the book, I just want the audio too as I’m in hospital for two weeks as of tomorrow.

For legal audiobooks, try audible.co.uk – they actually have a free trial that should work for you.

Click the second offer down – the first gives you only the first chapter of Twilight. It works for – guess how long – 14 days. Not bad :)

Any alternate free means that lasts longer would be illegal, so I can’t help you with that I’m afraid.

I doubt you will find it legally but audible.co.uk is a good site to download audio books and you can join and get any book no matter what the cost for £7.99 per month. I have been using this site a year now and they have some great books!

You can check the audio book out of your local public library and rip it onto your ipod. Then, once you’ve listened to it, you can delete it and return the CDs to the library, since you were too cheap to pay for it and keep it.

First if possible try to backup (copy) your important data (pictures, files, music, etc.). You might have to get some technical support from a company like Geek Squad or a local PC technician but it will not be cheap.

\Next try to find or acquire a Windows XP boot disk. Do you have XP Home or Professional. Since each copy of Windows has a unique key, you can actually borrow the disk from a friend if you a label on PC that give you activation code. Once you get the disk and the code, then boot the PC from this disk.

Give it a few minutes and try to access the repair/reinstall Windows menu, then delete the hard drive partition and create a new partition. Then do a complete reinstall.

I have several audio books that are on C.D. and Cassette. I’m going on a road trip this summer and would like some new ones without having to pay for them especially since I have so many already.

You can use Paperbackswap.com to trade audio books with other people. The site lets you trade paperback, hardcover, or audio books with other people. All you do is post the books you don’t want any more and every time you mail one to somebody else you get a point that you can use to get any book on the site. You can even print postage right from the site so you don’t need to go to the post office.

The only thing that you’ll need is the e-book reader software and the synch. Find the reader that you will like to use and after downloaded it will tell you that software will be install the next time you synch your PDA.
