I listen to Audio books daily in bed before going to sleep.
I was wondering if that will effect my hearing on the long run.

I set the volume to 3 or 4 out of 22 on my creative Zen, so the volume is very low.

I use regular headphones, not earbuds.

Good do not use earbuds because the intensity will be higher compared to headphones.Just make sure you do not turn up the volume too high.1/2 is the max volume , which means 11.To do that you need an ear break too. However, in your case its alright. The Key is Low Volume, Headphones and regular interval breaks.

Hope that Helps.

The only ones I know about are World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide. Next best thing would be I Am Legend. There has to be more out there. I commute 3 hours a day so audio books are nice to have. I love zombies!

See if your public library has any of these in audio book form.

I REALLY need to get a book for my English class, which I just remembered that I need to have read by Monday (oops) and if I want to get through it I really need to have it on my Ipod!! The Library is closed for the weekend, and there will be other books anyway. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have no idea about book downloads… I just wanted to give you credit for doing your own homework. I see so many questions on here asking for "brief summary of (insert book name here)" or similarly worded questions. It’s refreshing to see a kid trying for once!

where can i download popular books and newly published audio books online for free

Listen

LibriVox provides free audiobooks from the public domain. There are several options for listening. The first step is to get the mp3 or ogg files into your own computer:

Where can I get a free download of the book, Dear John? I would prefer the audio book, but if not the text is fine too. :) Thanks.

Nicholas Spark is not giving his book away for free or the audio book. Anyone that does is stealing. This could earn the person responsible possible jail time and fines of $150,000.

Are the Harry Potter audiobooks on itunes abridged or unabridged?

You can get them on audible.com and download the audible itunes manager. To the best of my knowledge they are unabridged.

I’m looking for the best sites where I can download audio books. Here is what I’m interested in:

1. Completely FREE downloads
2. Unlimited downloads (or as many as I can get) for 1 low
monthly fee.
3. Pay per audio book (as low of a cost as possible)

I’m looking for popular authors, such as Stephen King, Mark twain, Anne Rice, etc.

I’m also looking for a wide range of genres, such as Horror, Classics, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Children’s/Young Adult, etc.

Let me know if you highly recommend the site, and if you have had personal positive experience with it. Also, links would be very helpful. Thank you.

You might want to look into the library of Congress (United States). Last I heard they had a program for blind people were they could get audio books for little or no cost. Go to the library of Congress and see what they have?

I don’t believe you will find any. JK and her publisher keep a tight reign on her copyrighted materials including audio tapes! So, sorry!

I am not blind but I use tools that blind people do, if they are available and not scarce which i have never come across. I have a learning disability , I can read pretty good but I like to have large print text because it doesn’t look crowded and it’s easier to process. I check out audio books from the library as well as the book because I am an audio visual learner.
with my learning disability , certain life skills have been delayed – tying my shoes , math , reading , buttoning shirts , and a few other things. It’s kind of funny that I have difficultly telling time. Other people don’t think it’s funny when I read the time as being one hour early or one hour ahead and they say – Oh crap ! i am late ! then I say " you look at it". We have become so lazy with digital watches and clocks but I would like to learn to tell time on an analog clock. I have a friend who is nearly blind that has a watch that talks but the numbers are in braille. I know how to read braille ( I am a very curious person and I have a friend who used to work at a blind school and she had to learn braille – at the time a didn’t have much of a life
) a little bit but I am not blind so why do I need to learn. I only know letters : A-F and that’s by sight and with a key. so that doesn’t count for much.
So getting to the point ; Is there such thing as a talking watch?

Yes, Radio shack will most likely have one, I’ve seen them there before and if I remember correctly they were only around $20.

Hi All-

I am looking for a good Christian book on Audio. I got one called Taming the Tiger by Tony Anthony, and I enjoyed it!

The stories can be real or fiction, but have Christian teaching.

*Serious answers only please.

Thanks.

I really enjoyed listening to the Left Behind series on tape.
