I have a very proud friend who is blind, she loves the Harry Potter books and has all but this newest one on audio tape or CD. I can not afford to buy her the unabridged audio book and even if I could she’d not accept it from me, (she hates charity when it’s directed at her) if I can arrange it through another friend she WILL accept gifts from is there anyone willing to buy her this unabridged audio book and send it to her using the other friend’s name? You’d be doing a great act of kindness, get a tax deduction and helping me to help a friend who can not afford to buy the audio book for herself. Her birthday is at the end of this month so the timing is perfect. Please if you aren’t serious about trying to help, do not answer this. Thank you in advance.

Your friend is so lucky to have someone like you in her life, I wish I could help, but sadly I can’t. I just wanted to say how very kind you are for posting here where others with kind hearts are sure to help. God Bless You.

hey i want to sell an audio book on ebay australia and i want to sell it via Digital Download how do i do that

thanks

I don’t know, but I’m sure there’s a discussion board on ebay.com that would be helpful. Go to ebay.com and click on Communities in the upper right hand corner of any page, you’ll see a long list of discussion boards. Ebay.au may have something similar, but I don’t know.

Are you aware of ebay’s policy changes that will soon be taking effect? Please take a look at this video that explains them very well and join the 1000’s of ebay buyers & sellers worldwide who will be boycotting ebay Feb 18th – 25th

I would really like to find a job where I can do the voice over work for audio books or books-on-tape/cd. I have no idea where to go to apply for a job like this. I have gone to the book store, found the name of the publisher, and tried to locate their job section on their web site, but I don’t see anything in this area. Does anyone know how to go about applying for a job as a voice over for audio books? Also, where do you go to apply for a job to review and proofread textbooks for schools? I know these jobs exist but I have no idea where to find them. Any help would be great.

Its hard to give much voice over advice w/out knowing where you live. Most audio book voicing are done in New York and Los Angeles. Its a pretty tough biz to crack if you dont have any credits to yr name. A good way to start is to locate groups providing services for the blind in your area … they need readers for all sorts of material books, magazines, newspapers, etc. Its volunteer work, but it is good for the resume and helps build yr skill level, and you can get copies of what they record to use later as a demo reel. Take some voice over classes, general ones and ones geared toward audio books. When you have some experience find resources like the Northern California’s Reel Directory (www.reeldirectory.com) and check out producers of audio books and send them yr demo. You need to dig up the business yrself because general acting talent agents dont handle much in audio books. Good luck.

(This won’t give you new books for free, or books that are still under copyright. There’s nowhere that you can get those for free legally. It does have older books and books no longer under copyright, though.)

Looking for a place to download Charlaine Harris Audio Book torrents for free. Anyone have any sites?

I am sure there are illegal ones, but the only legal free ones I know of are via the Library.

Check with your local library to see if they are a member of or have access to a central Audio library, I know some are and I listened to 3 or 4 of her books that way.

Alternatively, just get the audio books from your library – whatever your local library doesn’t have, it will be able to order in from it’s network of other libraries.

Is there an unabridged audio version to the book "A people’s history of the united states: 1492-present" by Howard Zinn? I own the book and am reading it but I get car sick and am going on a trip so I want to continue with it. I have found the audio version called A people’s history of the united states: Highlights from the twentieth century" but I am afraid it will be abridged. Can anyone help me out?

Your public library may have it. Try searching there.

If I download an audio book from the internet, it is a WMA File packaged in only 15 chapters. If I loose my place I’m toast.

Is there any way to break up the chapters into smaller sub-chapters?

I am using OverDrive Media Console to get the WMAs from the internet (library). They ARE protected. I tried using Window Movie Maker and I got this message “The .wma is protected using digital rights management and cannot be imported.”

Hello Emmy,

DRM protects not only the contents but also the container (the file)
What are rights management if all could crack them !
So the answer is NO.
