Abridged means that certain parts of the book has been cut out to make it shorter (side plots things like that). The overall message is retained but you aren’t getting the full story (plus you’re at the mercy of the abridger in the since of what they deem important or unimportant).

Unabridged means simply that it hasn’t been abridged. Thus it is the story in its entirety.

Duma Key is still a very new audio book, so I don’t think you will easily get a free copy. However you could try Stephen Kings website. He might give some copies away or have a look at some quality merchant sites for discount coupons you can use to get Duma Key for less than retail.

For example I’ve just discovered that Hachette Audio USA are giving 6 audio books on CD away to one lucky person. That’s $177.88 worth of audio books!

They’re supposed to be as long as the paper books. The audio versions are unabridged readings of the books. The Potter books are read by an excellent reader and I prefer them to reading the books on paper.

Librarians are concerned that an increase in audio books will create a "digital divide" between those that can afford the technology to listen and those that cannot. So to prove this theory wrong, an audio book company decided to go to a school in New Jersey where 90% of students receive free or reduced lunches … I guess this is their way of calculating "poor students" in government schools. In their research on this school filled with 90% poor students, more than half of third graders already had their own MP3 players. In other words … their parents can’t afford to make them a lunch, but they are more than willing to go and buy their kids an MP3 player. That, my friends, is the "poor" in this country.

Does this make you angry? We are paying for their "free" lunches – while they ‘rock out to their i-pods!

This is a point I have made before. News headlines want to portray the US as if we are on the brink of destruction, because we "can’t" afford health care, gas, food, homes, and energy. BUNK. The fact is these same people who cry the man is keeping me down somehow find the money for material things that are very expensive.

I think that Br Beckwith is a "revert" and is returning home to the Catholic Church: he found Jesus in an eveangelical protestant movement and later found that what he was looking for was also in the Catholic Church all the time. I hope others who in ignorance(or through spiritual malnutrition,seeking to be fed and come to a living relationship with the Trinity) have left the Church may come home and find in the Catholic Church the fullness of Christianity and indescrible abundance of grace and spiritual fulfillment in Jesus the Lord,Savior and One Everlasting Head of the Church that Mr Beckwith had.
Frank also studied the questions and sources throughly and found that the Catholic doctrine was the more fully evangelical,biblical,patristic and comprehensively true.
