in differentiating from the ones that have only voice of narrator .
I prefer audio books with full character voices , music , sound effects .
Have downloaded bundle of sample mp3s but all of them are just voice , I really dont like it anyways
Can anybody give me a hint ?
If you have experienced some very good audio books in such kind , please feel free to recommend me , thanks everyone
ah , what is "unabridged" in terms people used ?
Try searching for "dramatized audio books" to find sound effects and more than one reader. If you’ll use that search string on Amazon, you’ll come up with about 3 pages of hits, mostly religious texts but also some literary ones.
When a text is reproduced in full and nothing is edited or removed, it is called unabridged. Conversely, when the text is edited or parts are taken out for concerns of brevity, it is abridged. More than likely, dramatized audio books will be abridged because of the amount of time that it takes to add music and the pauses between speakers. For example, my copy of the unabridged, single-narrator Scarlet Letter is ten CDs; if it were dramatized, it would likely be twenty CDs.
With dramatized audio, you’ll get most of the story, and based on what you’ve said, if you prefer sound effects and different actors for each character, you are more likely to retain the gist of the text than if you listened to an unabridged text read by one person without music.
